one absinthe (i've wanted to try this after jude law drank it in alfie) and two amaretto on the rocks later, i've arrived at the moment of truth--resolution check time. i limited them down to just 5 last year, let's see how i did:
1) Work: After all these crappy months I've finally gathered enough strength to venture out again. Very exciting prospects ahead. Horoscope says this year is super good for Aries/ram in the professional arena, so GO MOOOOOO!!!!
review: yes, sure. had exciting prospect indeed and it was super good for a while. until i got fired. but then, the firing part was quite an exciting experience. no complaints there.
2) Witch stuff: Must remember meaning to all cards to pass Level 3 test in spring. Finish Level 4 this year. Train to develop further psychic abilities and intuition. Help people and soothe their souls with my witch power!!!!
review: not doing much of this anymore or at least not relying on them. it's good for reference and reconfirmation, but not for answers. i've learned to trust my own intuition and follow the course of life.
3) Keep healthy: As I only went back for one check-up in 2006, must learn not to avoid hospitals and to confront own health issues. Also see Chinese medicine doctor and keep up with yoga. SLEEP EARLIER....
review:
check-up: yup
chinese doc: yup
yoga: sort of
sleep early: utter and complete failure
4) Financial management. Enough said.
review: umm. enough said.
5) Be kind, optimistic, and true to everyone.
review: yes, this i think i did ok.
well i say not too shabby overall, although still lots of room for improvement. perhaps i should reuse these for the new year, hmm. oh but that would mean passing up the chance to make a list, which is no fun. first, review definition:
A New Year's Resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous. The name comes from the fact that these commitments normally go into effect on New Year's Day and remain until fulfilled. (source: wikipedia)
my new year's resolutions for 2008
1) driver's license: i tried 4 times in 2007 to get my driver's license in two countries, but the gods of international motor vehicle and traffic control refused to grant me this teeny tiny wish. i will interpret this as a divine lesson that i was to have no control of where i wanted to go last year, and that instead of speeding through, i was meant to tread slowly on the destined path and appreciate the scenery. or take the bus/mrt/splurge on cabs/beg for rides.
2) keep healthy: my mom's newest psychic adviser told her that i should exercise more or my bum will get bigger. seriously. this is not a joke. she did say that. i can't even laugh at the absurdity of the situation because it actually sounds like a threat. i will get out of my chair and exercise more, darn it. also "take your vitamins!" and "sleep early!" i miss my mother.
3) financial management: buy less.
4) job: find one.
5) writing: not sure what i'm doing with this. will figure it out.
and i am determined to be myself this year. it's fabulous. or rather, i am. haahaa.
