so long, farewell, au revior auf weidersehen

am too busy packing. room looks like a hiroshimatic disaster. two full-size suitcases and i still feel insecure about how little i'm taking with me. surely mickey pillow has to come! but how DO you pack for an open-ended trip in the winter?

in the last few weeks, the purpose of this trip has become slightly blurred and i am not entirely certain why i'm going to vancouver. what i am certain of is a need to leave this place to seek changes that will lead me to my next station in life. as the future holds only the unknown, i have very little answer to the questions raised by, well, the general public, and can only assure loved ones that "i'll be back" without a definitive date (giving rise to the betting pool "weeks until mo comes back," now ranging 4~24 weeks).

i hold no expectations, no predictions. i'm migrating with a selection of yoga pants/rain gear/books that are supposed to enlighten and total zen serenity. kymmie remarked last night on how calm and halo-emitting i looked, compared to the hair-pulling, eyebrow-furrowing, involuntary-swearing mad chick from two months ago. hooray i'm no longer a freak!

i'd like to take a few lines here and commemorate my good friend/blog fan leslie's departure from taipei. she left today for a bright new chapter in her professional life as a PR executive in booming glitzy shanghai. leslie's constant wit and quirky personality as shown in these entries have made her a favorite among my ever-expanding readership (now 11). i'm helplessly outraged that the committee of communist censor people in china has decided to block blogger.com and therefore leslie no longer has access to my blog. this means i've lost my no. 1 commenter. however, these entries shall be e-mailed to leslie and i promise to update on her life to readers who've enjoyed her oddness.

so i guess this is it for now. i'll miss u people in dear lovely taipei. i won't be gone too long, i promise. after all, there's that pointless election, haaaa! will write from canada.
