"none, of what i don't have, bothers me"

introducing my wise, organized, sensitive, thoughtful, mo's-voice-of-reason friend bb (yes, from bbt, sort of, close enough), with whom i've been having 12-hr time difference until today, and tagging msn conversations.

bb: it's 10:42am
M: what are you, a clock?
bb: no, just confirming the time change
M: as in, it really happened?
bb: yup
M: i just read ur blog, like, 30 seconds ago
M: however i refrained from leaving a comment
bb: why?
bb: i love your comments!
bb: you're the only one who leaves me comments now
M: so you don't come to expect it on a regular basis
bb: haha, dang

M: maybe we're living parallel lives
M: or, at same wavelengths
bb: i thought we had established that already
M: we can't be living parallel lives because
M: you have a job and i don't
M: you have a boyfriend and i don't
M: you have an apartment and i don't
M: you have a car and i don't
M: ok that just sounds very bad
bb: haha, you are rediscovering yourself and i'm not
bb: you're young and single and i'm not
M: erm i'm just single, not young. and self-discovery is overrated
bb: you are environmentally friendly and i'm not
bb: depends if you see the glass half-full or half-empty
bb: two ways to look at everything
M: as in, i can pick up and leave anything anywhere anyone and you can't
M: i guess that's sort of good, i enjoy this kind of freedom
bb: you're portable
M: yeah, i don't think my current status bothers me
M: none of what i don't have bothers me

ok, i would like to put a lot more up here of her insightful, em, insights, but that would expose way too much of myself as bb has constantly and consistently tried to psychoanalyze me. so this marks my 200th entry, in which i came to the sudden realization that there are quite a few things i don't have. but as she says, it depends whether the glass is half-full or half-empty (of red wine, on most occasions). today i'm happy that it's half-full of free time, dinner with an old friend, plans for vancouver, sufficient sleep, hot chocolate, tendonitis in my left hand and a runny nose. peace out.

the conversation sounds so much more profound when cut and pasted (and edited) onto a blog! :D man, we are deep. haha.
