in this day and age where many friendships and more-than-friendships are established and/or solidified on instant messaging, i find myself to have made a few this year that deserve a special page in my life. there is one, however, that is both a friendship AND a MTF, and by that i mean, a mutual admiration, a kindred spirit, bond of sisterhood.
you ask me why i say that. i tell you there aren't many i have these conversations with:
Les says:
Since when do you talk like that? "Any1?"
MO DT concert any1? says:
since just now
MO DT concert any1? says:
i decided to be dumb
Les says:
fine with me
Les says:
i have a bookmark for you, from jenny
MO DT concert anyone? says:
i use restaruant biz cards
Les says:
i use my own biz cards
MO DT concert anyone? says:
i will do the same
MO DT concert anyone? says:
with new ones that say CONSULTANT (this is, of course, in sarcastic reference to the famous office incidence where my title was changed to consultant without my knowledge)
Les says:
GIVE ME ONE
Les says:
i'll use it on my favorite book
MO DT concert anyone? says:
very well, i shall distribute like mad
on shared passion for books, fiction vs. non-fiction--(starting here i will just use our iitials)
L: i could finish fictions in a day but it takes me forever to read a nonfiction
M: same
L: my attention span is short
M: guns germs and steel...dang
M: sophie's world puke
L: PLOT AGAINST AMERICA
L: you should work on that!
M: plot against america is fiction, charles lindbergh a nazi american president
M: and i finished it!
L: oh, it only took you... a year?
M: 7 months
L: but 有始有終 is good
M: yes, always. although, i didn't read the appendix.
L: haha, i forgive you for not reading the appendix. you give yourself too much pressure.
more on non-fiction by jared diamond--
L: i have a friend (andy) who actually adores diamond
L: he's read EVERY SINGLE ONE of his works
M: celia too, she read the ape one too
L: not surprised about celia-- she reads carl jung
L: 榮格 容祖兒 (note to reader: stupid inside joke)
M: hahahahaa
M: oh wait the chimpanzee
M: it's the chimpanzee, not the ape. the third chimpanzee
L: same thing
L: only diamond, celia, and andy care
M: hopefully also people at the zoo
L: why did i find you so late
L: why didnt you show up on my first day in Taipei 2 years ago
M: at moments like this when you say that to me (and other girls have said that to me before), i hate that you're not a guy
M: although i do love you
L: haha, would you take me in if i were transgender
M: i think it depends on which you were first
L: nevermind, i am not interested in continuing this transgender conversation
L: its never going to happen, i like my female reproductive organs
M: i think yeah, it's easier for men to get surgeries
L: i see you like where this convo is going
M: so he called me after work and complained about his gf for an hour
L: that is so cute you two do that with each other
L: but the drama! what's wrong with her?
M: i think she's a princess
M: and you know, oddly, i almost felt like it was a mirror. some of the things he said about her reminded me of myself
L: were YOU a princess?
M: well, a reasonable one
M: and polite, respectful
