coming home to me

i've been in vancouver for a full week now, and i believe myself to be very happy at the moment. am enjoying a sense of tranquility that has been absent from my life for a long time, and i feel content before going to bed every night (despite quasi-messed up sleeping schedule). i literally feel my body relax and my brain reduce its activities, which i don't think i would be able to do anywhere else in the world but here.

so far i've done:
1) seen old friends
2) played in the snow
3) made roastbeef
4) put up a christmas tree
5) gone to a muay thai class
6) tried to sign up for yoga
7) supported my friends at dodgeball
8) procrastinated big time on my translations
9) tried to get my driver's license but to no avail (will write separate entry)

things seem to have changed a bit around here after i left, yet in some ways they haven't. it all feels so natural and familiar, and everyday i find more sense of belonging. many have remarked on how happy i look in my pictures, and those who have seen me earlier this year tell me they see the old me slowly coming back. i've decided to just go with it now. i don't know if this is where i should be, but it sure is so wonderful to come home to.
