good bye, 2008, you didn't really suck THAT bad...

for me, anyway.

let's see.

i turned 29.
i came back to taiwan.
i traveled. a lot.
i had 4 job offers.
i took 1, in a new industry.
i have a new man in my life.
i wrote. a creative writing course, and 133 blog entries including this one.

overall, 2008 was a relatively calm year for me, with little drama (even romance happened rather as-a-matter-of-factly), and a lot of time for reflection. i knew that it'd be so--it's my year of temperance, hence moderation and synthesis--and it is a comforting knowledge to have held. it doesn't come as a surprise, then, that i don't feel particularly enthusiastic about summing it up in a grand fashion, but rather preferring to send off the last 365 days in the quiet way the year has been for me. although, not so much for the rest of the world, but i also believe that things happened for a good reason, and that we collectively have something brand new to look forward to, whatever it is.

and with that, here's signing off for 2008.
