lost without house

i've been watching house md the medical series everyday for the past two months. i finished all my dvds tonight, up to season 5. starting tomorrow my life will no longer be filled with medical puzzles, eccentric and inappropriate behavior by a scruffy middle age (and hot) man, and everything else that has made this show so special. maybe i will feel a little empty inside, a little lost.

but i guess there comes a time when we must move on, to a new series, a long abandoned book, an expensive yoga membership, a lifetime worth of computer lessons to attend. house has taken up hours and hours of my after-work spare time, and it's time i quit the addiction and pick up something more productive with my life. although i must say, i'm now so much more familiar with the human body and all sorts of weird things associated with it (seen blood come out of every orifice now). at one point, i beat one of house's fellows in blurting out a diagnosis (AIDS). go figure.

but i don't think this is the end of house at my house. as the show now airs on tv in taiwan, mom has taken a huge interest in the show as well (attraction to oddness is a family trait), and turns on her tv religiously at 11pm. also, now with a leak in my parents' bedroom and the smell of mold permeates, i tell her that "this is how people get sick with mysterious illnesses on house," she promptly moves into my brother's bedroom.

so, i guess this is the end of this bit. i'm going to miss him dearly until season 6 finishes airing and pirate dvd set comes out in china. tsk tsk. oh well. i guess house would be ok with that.

5 seasons in 2 months? according to wiki, that's 110 episodes, each 44 minutes in length. that's 4840 minutes = 80.6667 hours. over a course of, let's say, 60 days, that's an average of 1.34 hrs per day of House.

:) when does season 6 come out? :)
