bb, my bo ba lai cha,

if we haven't conversed in the last little while, it's because i've been at the height of a cycle, and cannot really share the experience in full spectrum until the cycle is near completion. and also because you've been in mexico.

and tonight there was that envelope waiting for me when i came home with physical fatigue and mental exhaustion. i recognized the handwriting before i even read it. then i opened it to find that picture, and broke into a smile. not just any smile that i've trained myself to put on, bb, but one from the heart.

really, how did a single moment in time become etched in our memories forever?

as i write now i think back on that moment, of how carefree we had been in our youth, yet reflective, and in anticipation of the future that awaited us. and here we are now in the future, separated by the very ocean that marked the beginning of a long and sometimes winding contemplation on this bizarre journey we call life, i'm glad it's still you i do it with.

and so here is my open love letter to you. thank you for keeping me in your thoughts, for telling me that everything happens for a reason, and for reminding me that i need to follow my heart like i've always done. i may miss your stagette, even your bridal shower, but you bet your lovely beep that i'm going to be there on your very big day, and send you off on the road to see-lai-dom which, after ALL this thinking, is what life should be about, anyways.
